24 Hours of Silence and Composing

A workshop for people who would like to explore creativity through music. For curious, supportive, thoughtful humans - you don’t have to ever have written music before. Everyone writes and everyone shares their creations for music box (no electronics). The first session will introduce listening and composition. Following sessions will be informal performances for each other.

No prior musical training necessary.

For: musicians, artists, professionals, laborers, home-makers, both beginners and those wishing to make a new beginning.

Participants must have in their possession a 15-note punch card music box kit.

This one or similar. With extra paper.

Participants commit to:

  1. Attend two Zoom meetings and three teleconference meetings.

  2. Write at least one piece and perform for the group.

  3. Keep silence as you are able for twenty-four hours between Zoom meetings.

Strong suggestions:

Complete abstention from email, news, and social media.

There are expenses associated with presenting our Retreats-In-Place. We will not turn anyone away, but there is a suggested donation of $50. Contributions of any amount will be welcomed with our gratitude!
